Going Home: Bella

Bella, formerly Della, has found so many new friends to love! She's a playful pup with lots of energy, but plenty of time for cuddle sessions.

Bella's adoptive family was kind enough to share some pictures and updates on Bella in her new home. Keep reading to find out more about this lovely pup and her happy new life!

"Bella, as she is now called, is doing great! She has settled in quite well and bonded with her new buddy, Theo. They run and play constantly and when she's tired she loves to cuddle with her humans.
We all love her very much and I think she is very happy in her forever home. Thank you for helping her and caring for animals."

We are so happy Bella has found the perfect humans to cuddle. Thank you for adopting this sweet girl and giving her both canine and human friends!

Are you thinking of getting a dog or cat, this Christmas? Then we would love to have you visit us, so we can find an animal that matches what you need. Do you really want it to be a surprise? After Berkeley Humane: Sparky

Yay! Happy Woof Wednesday, everybody! It's time for another wonderful Going Home post, this time featuring Sparky.

Did you ever hear the phrase "a picture is worth a thousand words?" That could not be more true than with little Sparky. His pictures say it all - partying it up on the beach, showing off a perky red jacket - we even got a real family portrait!

Sparky's new family also wrote a  few kind words about their beloved pup. You can read them below.

"We adopted Sparky on Feb. 1, 2014.  We changed his name from Smarty to Sparky.  We love him.  He is very intelligent and he gets along with children and other dogs. "

We could not be more happy to see Sparky in such a loving and caring environment. Congratulations on finding the newest addition to your family! We hope that there will be many fun times ahead for all of you.

Could you do with some new spark in your life? We have adorable dogs waiting for you to take them home. Come visit us during dog adoption hours (Wednesday through Sunday between 11 and 5) and see if we don't have the pup for you.

Going Home: Riley

Happy Woof Wednesday again! Today we're visiting Riley, formerly known as Dream Girl.  Riley is certainly one of the dreamiest puppies to ever pass through Berkeley Humane. In this post we'll share about her finding a new home full of love and new friends.

She even befriended a bunny - how many dogs can say that?  including Dexter the bunny! Check out these pictures and updates from Riley's awesome new family!

"Dream girl is now renamed Riley and she is doing great. I have enrolled her in a puppy preschool class at Zoom Room in Walnut Creek. She is a happy, energetic, affectionate puppy who wants to play all the time!"

"I also have 2 rescue bunnies and there is a picture of her meeting Dexter, the Netherland Dwarf bunny. She wants so much to play with them but they are a little afraid of her bouncy energy so we are working on her being more gentle. Thank you for rescuing her ... We love her so much!"

That is one adorable family! We are so happy Riley found a loving family that can keep up with her "bouncy energy!"

Do you want a friend to add love and energy to your household? Come visit Berkeley Humane during dog adoption hours (Wednesday through Sunday between 11 and 5) and see if we don't have a furry friend for you.

Going Home: Elsie

Hurray for another episode of Woof Wednesday! Today we're having a picture-heavy Going Home post of the adorable Elsie: Elsie has always been a happy-go-lucky pup, but finding her loving family has opened up a whole new level of joy.

Elsie has a very full schedule at her new home: long naps with her best friend, intense tug-o-war sessions with her favorite toy, and car rides with the whole family!

From her adopters:
"We adore her, she is so happy, healthy and well behaved, a perfect addition to our family."

Aren't both of them adorable? And we really love Elsie's shirt! Adopters: Thank you so much for sending us these precious pictures. It always makes us happy to see a dog really fit in with their new family.

Do you, too, want your Berkeley Humane adoptee to be featured on the blog? Just reach out to your adoptions counselor with an update and some pictures, and then we'll do the rest!

Going Home: Parker

Hooray! It's Woof Wednesday again!

For today's episode, let's take a look at one of the most pampered, precious, fashionable, and completely adorable puppies known to man. We've received an update with pictures of baby Parker (formerly Siouxsie). Parker's family sent us a sweet message about their pet, telling us all about how she's doing.

They were also kind enough to send us a whole pile of family photos to share with you. Go take a look, you'll have to agree that Parker is supremely cute.

"Hello Everybody!
Where to even begin with our precious baby Parker (Siouxsie).
Her training is coming along pretty good.  She is able to do a few tricks as well ie: Sit, Stay, Dance and High Five!

Oh and she has a dress for EVERY holiday thanks to her Grandma...lol... We are able to take her on walks now since she completed her shots last Friday. She now weighs 4.1 lbs; her Dr. thinks she will not get much bigger!

We love her more than we ever dreamed possible,
Gina, Kelly,Sarah and Imaani <3 and Parker Butson"

We are so happy Parker has found a family to love her and care for her. Parker seems to have added just as much love and happiness to this family as they have to her. We wish you all a happy life together!

Are you, too, looking for love? Come by our adoption center during dog adoption hours (Wednesday through Sunday between 11 and 5) and see if we don't have just the right new canine companion for you!

Going Home: Una

Happy Feline Friday again!

While we're waiting for all the adoption stories to come in after the great success of our Bark (& Meow) Around the Block adoption event, we're giving you a little jewel from the archives:

Una was adopted from Berkeley Humane by a true cat lover. In fact, only three months after her adoption, Una got herself an adopted sister, Candy Corn! Here is a little 'happy tail'  about how well they're doing.

Apparently, Una is not only playful and loving, but she is quite the cat burglar! Keep reading to learn more about Una's thievery."

"Una and Candy Corn are both very happy and adjusted to their new home as well as to each other. Since we got Una first, she is the queen of the house but after a few months, has adjusted to her new sister, Candy Corn. "

"Una loves to play and chases her tail. Una is the least well behaved and polite of the two kitties because she's a food thief. Past thefts have included meatballs, tortillas, and popcorn."

"These two get along so well that they now groom each other."

Some other names used by this proud adoptive mom include "furry babies" and "little turdlings." She is completely in love with these two kitties and they are very clearly in love with her too. We are so happy you all found each other and we hope you have a "catiful day" too!

If you, like this adopter, want us to feature your story of adopting a pet from Berkeley Humane, feel free to contact your adoption couselor with an update and some photo's. You'll see your pets back on here soon!
