It's always gratifying to hear happy updates from adopters, especially those who got animals from us many years ago! It warms our hearts when animals find the perfect home and can share many years of love with their human family.
Hello to everyone at BEBHS,
Six years ago [on Valentine's Day] my then boyfriend, now husband adopted a bit of a broken dog from BEBHS. Her name was Chile there, but we renamed her Shug (actually Ms. Sugar Cookie Valentine). She was rescued by you from a high kill shelter in Merced.
She will be seven years old at the end of March and is doing great. We live in LA now and Shug is enjoying being a SoCal dog. She has one feline sister named Daphne, and two canine sisters, Bella Legosi Bonaparte and Lady
Scruffindorf.
Thanks so much for all of your hard work and dedication to the animals of the East Bay.
